This was a truly picture perfect winter wedding. Derek and Nel got married on a crisp winter day in December, right before Christmas. We made our way down the freshly snow-covered trail at Trent University Nature Area to a small clearing in the cedar trees. A peaceful hush surrounded them; the kind you only get right after it has snowed heavily. Their closest friends and family gathered on either side of their DIY aisle made out of a pine needle garland wrapped in twinkling string lights. The wonderful Julie Connelly officiated their wedding ceremony which felt intimate and emotional.

Derek had met Nel on a trip to the Philippines, but Covid kept them apart for almost 3 years. Nel, who had never experienced snow or winter had his hopes pinned on a snowy Hallmark wedding. They were in luck as a major snowstorm arrived only days before their wedding and ensured that they had a beautiful winter wonderland as a backdrop. It totally felt like they got married inside a snow globe.
